DIY Home Build

Can't believe it is time to put the floors in!  No one ever said building out your home is fast and easy. However, we have reached the point of installing our floors. Despite the months it took to finally decide on a design, installation is underway. We investigated stain and paint and we have done too many tile floors to do that again, so we chose wood planks.
Here they are resting inside for a few weeks before we install this set. We purchased center back, number 122 pattern, yellow pine 16' long boards.   We  purchased Bondtec flooring adhesive that will provide a water barrier as well as a good adherence to the slab. The next step will be to fully complete the installation in the house, sand and seal the floor.

Below the photos show the installation of a base or initial board. Off that board sets of boards will be installed. Using a floor jack and 2 x 4 boards we are able to join the boards and keep them in place until the adhesive fully cures.

Small 1/2 bath floor is in!  Sanding and sealing will come soon.

The kitchen cabinets are complete and installed. The rustic cabin look of the white cabinets came out great. Our butcher block counter tops are resting on top of the cabinets. They are on the schedule to be installed in a few weeks.
This photo show the trim complete on the windows and ceiling, including around the vent hood.

Garden vegetables are in too! Only two almost freezing overnight temps, but they are looking good.
